Community Alliance for Hunger Relief and Education is committed to providing students with valuable real-world experiential learning opportunities through local engagement and outreach. As we provide community outreach and engagement, it is our goal to remain flexible and diverse in the type of scholarship opportunities we offer. Each internship experience is unique based on the need of the community, community partners, learning objectives of the student and much more. Our internships are skill-building work experiences that allow students to apply academic knowledge and competency in a real-life setting.

Internship Scope: Assessing Client Food Needs at Community Food Pantries
Location: Mesa, Delta, Montrose, and Ouray Counties (Tri River Area of Western Slope)
 
We are looking for a student to help us assess the food needs of clients who use food pantries on the Western Slope. This position is idea for a student who wishes to build skills in community-engaged research and seeks to develop a deeper understanding about the needs of communities experiencing food insecurity.  
 
Ideal candidates are comfortable in diverse community settings and proficient in managing research protocols and data.  Per internship guidelines, undergraduate or graduate students graduating May or August of 2021 are not eligible. Relocation to the Western Slope is required.
